GridUnity Names Alexina Jackson Strategic Product Officer to Drive Innovation
November 12, 2025
With the energy landscape shifting rapidly, GridUnity expands its leadership team to guide the next phase of grid modernization
Summit, N.J., November 12, 2025 — GridUnity, the industry leader in intelligent grid interconnection and load connection solutions, today announced the appointment of Alexina Jackson as Strategic Product Officer (SPO). Jackson’s arrival marks a pivotal moment in GridUnity’s evolution as the company prepares for a new phase of growth, partnership expansion, and product innovation in 2026 and beyond.

Over the past decade, GridUnity has worked to streamline transmission and distribution interconnection and grid planning for more efficient energy project approvals, accelerating its momentum across regional transmission organizations and utilities and earning multiple U.S. Department of Energy recognitions, including a $49.5 million GRIP grant. The company is now focusing on expanding partnerships, strengthening its relationships with utilities and regulators, and refining its platform to meet emerging challenges such as electrification, distributed energy integration, and data center-driven load growth.
GridUnity is actively deploying the nation’s first Network Effect: As more system operators, utilities, and distributed energy resource (DER) participants adopt and integrate GridUnity’s platform, each new participant contributes additional data, interoperability, and insights that enhance the value of the platform for all users.
As part of its ongoing innovation agenda, GridUnity is leveraging AI and automation to streamline interconnection lifecycle management and grid planning solutions to drive efficiency—from pre-application to commisioning—reflecting its focus on intelligence, transparency, and scalability across the grid. GridUnity recently introduced GALE, its Grid Analytics Learning Engine, in July at the FERC Order 2023 workshop. This market leading development will enable GridUnity's national customer base to transform the Interconnection process across the U.S.
Jackson brings more than two decades of experience spanning sustainable development, law, and innovation—connecting policy, technology, and business strategy. Previously, at AES Corporation, Jackson led the innovation team focused on digital transformation of the grid ecosystem through data-visibility, digital protocols and controls, improved investment decision making, modern customer solutions, and regulatory and utility culture change management.
“With Alexina joining our leadership team, GridUnity is expanding its platform to meet the most pressing challenges of our time, from large-load integration and capacity constraints to electrification and the rise of AI-driven demand,” said Brian Fitzsimons, CEO of GridUnity. “Her expertise bridges the commercial, regulatory, and technical dimensions of our work, helping to ensure that GridUnity’s innovation continues to lead the market.”
With market attention on the challenges of large-load and hybrid interconnections, GridUnity is positioned to play a defining role in enabling more coordinated, data-driven grid decision making. Backed by strong demand for connection of generation and load, creative regulatory solutions, and innovations in grid planning, the company enters 2026 ready to expand its platform and deepen its impact across the evolving energy landscape.
“Grid modernization is enabled by curated data backed by technology, but it is driven forward by people, process and policy,” said Alexina Jackson, Strategic Product Officer at GridUnity. “Our work is about building bridges—among operators, utilities, developers and customers, across innovation and reliability, and between what’s possible in the future and how we get there by intentionally designing what’s needed tomorrow. I’m thrilled to help GridUnity continue leading this transformation.”
